PYGMALION PYGHACK

The third annual hackathon takes place at Krannert Center on Sep 27, 5pm to 11pm, and on Sep 28, 7am to 5pm. Awards will be presented on Sep 28 at 7:00pm. This free, all-ages hack brings together campus and community to build and innovate for the greater good of Champaign-Urbana. Participants are challenged to integrate a wide, interdisciplinary array of skills and talents in their project teams.

This year, PYGMALION introduces HOMEHACK, a concept derived from the Krannert Center performance of HOME by Geoff Sobelle, an evocative performance depicting the various meanings humans attribute to their homes and showing how a house (a physical structure) can be transformed into a home (a sense of belonging and ownership of a space).

For more information and to register, visit PYGHACK, or email info [at] pygmalionfestival.com with questions.

PYGHACK is presented by Research Park at the University of Illinois and Siebel Center for Design.

As PYGMALION enters its 15th year, it remains one of the most culturally creative events in Champaign-Urbana and downstate Illinois. The ever-expanding offerings have grown to include music, technology, literature, food, and maker components. Krannert Center hosts festival events featuring comedian Michelle Wolf, food and wine connoisseur Antoni Porowski, a full TECH DEMO + Human Library, Astronomy on Tap, musical artist Michelle Zauner, and poets J. Allyn Rosser and Mark Halliday. Visit PYGMALION for more info.
