SEXTET explores the deep waters of the blues and jazz, two major tributaries of American music. Leaning on compositions of 1950s and 60s hard bop musicians such as Horace Silver, Jackie McLean and Lee Morgan, as well as original compositions, SEXTET’s performances reflect and refract timeless musical concepts. With an all-star lineup of local jazz heavyweights, this ensemble brings the essence of the Chicago and New York music scene directly into the Krannert Center lobby.
