Romeo and Juliet
By William Shakespeare
Robert G. Anderson, director
Generations collide when true love defies family expectations. This timeless tale of the tragic consequences that grow from tribal hatred will be presented in a contemporary setting sure to capture the attention of audiences. Transforming a story embedded in the cultural psyche by imagining it in 1970s Chicago, this new production of Romeo and Juliet reclaims a story of dangerous, impetuous love. A disco soundtrack, psychedelic clothing, and onstage seating bring Shakespeare’s traditional text into an imaginative new retelling.
This production includes gun shots.
This performance will last approximately one hour and 35 minutes with no intermission. There is no late seating for this performance.
