Director of Campus Engagement: The Director of Campus Engagement strengthens Krannert Center for the Performing Arts' academic interconnectivity by further integrating the Center's work into the academic culture and curriculum through campus-based engagement activities that ensure student participation. The Director of Campus is committed to equity, inclusion and anti-racist practices, broadening opportunities and ensuring participation of the University of Illinois' diverse campus. The Director of Campus Engagement is collaboratively responsible for aligning engagement initiatives with the mission of the Center, developing priorities, allocating resources appropriately, and designing and implementing effective systems for team collaboration, with particular responsibility for campus academic engagement and student engagement with Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. This position also serves as the Engagement Department's "access liaison" working in collaboration with Krannert Center staff and others to ensure best practices for accessible performances. Programming and Engagement Coordinator: The function of the Programming and Engagement Coordinator is to serve as a member of the engagement and programming teams at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts by assisting in the planning and coordination of performance as well as engagement events; to collaborate with engagement staff on campus and community initiatives; to sustain anti-racism, accessibility and inclusion work through programming and engagement activities. Hourly Positions

Student PositionS

Patron Services Host

Patron Services Hosts perform several different jobs during performances, including taking tickets, assisting patrons who have disabilities, greeting people and providing directions. All staff must be ready to think on their feet, address unique issues, and assist our patrons and each other at all times. 

  • Skills: Responsible, friendly demeanor and eagerness to step In and help.
  • Duties and Work Environment: Hosts must be able to climb stairs, lift up to 20 pounds, and stand for 3-5 hours per shift. Hosts will also assist patrons by providing a wheelchair to take them into the theatres, so you must be able to assist the patrons in and out of the chair and push them across carpeted surfaces and over thresholds.
  • Schedule and HoursThe job involves about 10-20 hours per week, mostly Tuesday through Sunday evenings. You must be available most weekends during the academic year.

Scene Shop Student Worker

Job duties will include:

  • Build, rig, load-in, and load-out academic production scenery in an efficient and safe manner as instructed or as indicated in drawings.
  • Operate various hand, power, & pneumatic tools in a safe manner, including both wood and metalworking tools.
  • Attend various tool and safety trainings as needed.
  • Clearly communicate the progress of projects to Shop Staff and/or Technical Director
  • Inform Shop Staff of any broken or damaged tools and equipment.
  • Inform Shop Staff of low or depleted shop inventory.
  • Maintain a positive and pleasant attitude and work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the Scene Shop and performance spaces.
  • Perform additional shop related tasks and projects as assigned.
