Krannert Center Uncorked: The Kurt Reeder ORGANization
The final installment of the summer's Krannert Center Uncorked series gives you the Kurt Reeder ORGANization on July 17!
Few sounds in music are as soulful as the Hammond B3 organ. In the hands of Kurt Reeder, central Illinois' master of the instrument, it shifts from a cry, to an inspiration, to a stomach punch. The Kurt Reeder ORGANization delivers the hard-hitting, gritty, soulful organ jazz from the legends of the genre: Jimmy Smith, Big John Patton, Charles Earland, Joey DeFrancesco, and C-U's own Brother Jack McDuff.
With C-U heavyweights Beto Rodrigues (guitar), Dr. Reginald Lewis (sax), Sean Kutzko (congas, percussion), and Ian Shepherd (drums), no other group in the area brings it like the ORGANization. They'll take you from the pulpit to the gut bucket, and everywhere in between.
Cash bar, light snacks, and two sets of FREE organ jazz with the Kurt Reeder ORGANization. Come get your dose of vitamin B3 Thursday, July 17 from 5-7 at Stage 5 in the Krannert Center lobby.
