Cirque Kalabanté
A Guinean multidisciplinary artist and veteran circus performer, Yamoussa Bangoura created Afrique en Cirque for his company, Cirque Kalabanté, to reflect daily life in Guinea. The unforgettable show shares the beauty, youth, and artistry of African culture with its colorful scenery and costumes, and staging that makes the theatre vibrate with joyful energy. Acrobats execute gravity-defying moves and human pyramids accompanied by the contemporary sounds of live Afro-Jazz, percussion, and kora.
Yamoussa recruited many of his extended family members to join Cirque Kalabanté, including his twin sisters, brothers, and cousins. With its classes in African dance, cirque, and drumming, the company proudly shares its achievements, skills, and message of hope to inspire others and to assist with the humanitarian mission to help the Guinean community from which Yamoussa and many of his company members come.
Please note that the following items are not allowed in the theatre: backpacks, large bags, strollers, instrument cases, food, beverages other than bottled water, tripods, signs, balloons, skateboards, bicycles, scooters, and any other items deemed to be dangerous or to pose an obstruction.
