Canceled: Mark Morris Dance Group and Music Ensemble
On March 11, 2020, the University of Illinois communicated new guidelines for university operations, enacted to safeguard health during current COVID-19 conditions.
In accordance with these guidelines, all public performances at Krannert Center the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester are canceled as of Monday, March 16, 2020. If any performances become available by way of streaming or other technology, we will share that information as soon as possible. If you would like to take this action, please contact the Ticket Office at 217.333.6280 (800/KCPATIX) or kran-tix [at] illinois.edu by Wednesday, March 25. Ticket Office staff will be happy to register this donation. Thank you in advance for considering this option.

No spring semester in Champaign-Urbana is complete without the return of Mark Morris Dance Group to its Midwest home. The cherished relationship between Krannert Center and MMDG is rooted in a mutual dedication to timeless artistry and the power of arts-based public engagement and is demonstrated through decades of the company’s evocative, joyful, and exceptionally musical performances; Krannert Center’s ongoing Dance for People with Parkinson’s program; and extensive campus and community engagement. In 2020, the Mark Morris Dance Group and Music Ensemble will present three works, including the newly premiered Sport set to Erik Satie’s Sports et Divertissements for solo piano and Arrows. Eros., a work set to cantatas by Handel. The final selection is Morris’ beautifully balletic The Trout, premiered in 2018 and inspired by Franz Schubert’s enchanting chamber music masterpiece, the “Trout” Quintet.
