We Got Next

We Got Next is a five-part webinar series launched by the College of Fine and Applied Arts designed to highight the work and research of faculty of color relevant to race and equality. This effort is led by Endalyn Taylor, professor in the Department of Dance and Dean's Fellow for the college. Each week, Taylor will be joined by faculty members and special guests who will share their research and have a live discussion of the work's creation, impact, relationship to the perpetual pandemic of racism, and the systematic issues brought to the forefront by George Floyd's murder and other recent events.

The dates and participants scheduled for the five-part We Got Next series are as follows:

July 23: For the first session in the series, Taylor will be joined by Kemal Nance from the Department of Dance and Tim Davis, an Illinois alumnus artist, curator, and educator.
July 30: For the second session, Taylor will be joined by Joyce McCall, School of Music, and Stacey Robinson, School of Art and Design.
August 6: For the third session, Taylor will welcome Rebecca Ginsburg, Department of Landscape Architecture; Rochelle Sennet, School of Music; and James Lee III, Guest Collaborator.
August 13: For the fourth session, Taylor will welcome Patrick Earl Hammie, School of Art and Design.
August 20: For the fifth session, Taylor will be joined by Lisa Dixon, Department of Theatre, and Lou Turner, Department of Urban and Regional Planning.

Each session will last approximately 90 minutes.
