UI Symphony Orchestra
The University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra (UISO) is the School of Music's premier orchestra. The Symphony Orchestra performs major literature from the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Musicians in the orchestra consist of the finest students in the School of Music, as well as exceptionally talented non-majors from across the University of Illinois campus. The Symphony Orchestra gives six or more concerts each season, including opera, chamber orchestra performances, and performances of major choral works. The Symphony Orchestra works with faculty and guest soloists and accompanies the winner of the School of Music's Concerto Competition each year.
