Sonic Liberation 8 at Urbana Free Library

The folkloric drummers of Sonic Liberation 8 will offer a program on the Afro-Cuban and Lucumi music that lives at the core of their ensemble. Their presentation will include instrumental drum toques saluting the Afro-Cuban Orishas, song adaptations to secular Rumba Guaguancó, and introduce the fundamental structures of the traditional rhythms.

This performance is supported by the Global Transfer Afterglow series at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts and the Robert E. Brown Center for World Music.
