Krannert Uncorked with Jean Rene Balekita and Bomoyi

Congolese musicians Jean Rene Balekita and Bomoyi sing in English, French, Lingala, Kikongo and Tshiluba. Their music reminds one of Gospel and Jazz with an African rhythm. The group has toured in Africa, Europe and the United States and now live in Urbana, IL.

This performance is presented in collaboration with the Center for African Studies and the Young African Leaders Institute guests who will be on campus this week. In commemoration and celebration of the life of a recently passed YALI participant, you are invited to wear something white to tonight’s performance.
