Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis

Modern jazz legend Wynton Marsalis has led this remarkably versatile ensemble for over three decades—harmonizing a graceful blend of masterworks by Ellington, Basie, Monk, Mingus, Goodman, and more with original compositions, Lincoln Center-commissioned works, and rare historic pieces. The iconic Marsalis may enjoy the most name recognition, but the ensemble itself comprises 15 more of the jazz world’s finest soloists and ensemble players. Together, they travel the globe as ambassadors of America’s great jazz tradition—using their “purring swing” and “liquid phrasing” to delight audiences worldwide (The Guardian).

This performance will last approximately one hour and 50 minutes, and includes a 20-minute intermission.
