Shozo Sato, guest director

Master of Zen arts and emeritus faculty member Shozo Sato brings his distinctive style of design and direction to a new production of Iago's Plot, his original take on Shakespeare's Othello. As in the classic tale, doubt and jealousy fester in the mind of a military leader, Othello, fed by his ambitious lieutenant, Iago. Deception breeds jealousy and sends Desdemona, the "good wife" of her day, to a tragic end. Blending Kabuki performance style from Japanese theatre with bravura theatrics of the west, Shozo Sato reveals new truth in this classic tale of family dysfunction.
