Funkadesi (Stage 6)
Funkadesi brings a high-energy, feel-good performance that’s as meaningful as it is fun. Winner of the “Most Outstanding Group” at the Chicago Music Awards and “Best World Music Group” by Chicago Reader, this Chicago-based collective blends Bollywood, reggae, bhangra, funk, and more into one seamless, infectious sound.
On stage, Funkadesi is all about connection—diverse musicians coming together with a shared mission: “One Family, Many Children. Insisting We All Belong.” Their shows are vibrant, danceable, and full of positive energy wherever they perform.
Celebrating 30 years together and led by founder Dr. Rahul Sharma, the group weaves themes of joy, wellness, and community into every experience they create.
