At 86 years old, Charles Lloyd is the first artist in the 90 year history of the Down Beat Critics Poll to be inducted into the "Jazz Hall of Fame”, and at the same time to win “Artist of the Year,” "Saxophonist of the Year," and “Album of the Year" for his latest release, "The Sky Will Still Be there Tomorrow,” available on Blue Note Records. Lloyd is an NEA Jazz Master and recipient of the Ordre de Chevalier des Arts et Lettres. One of the living legends of jazz, Lloyd is most famously known for his classic quartet in the mid-1960s with Jack DeJohnette, Keith Jarret and Cecil McBee. He has played with nearly every jazz musician of note over the last six decades. Lloyd is at the height of his powers and is as prolific as ever.
