Because I Am Your Queen (a feminist fantasia)
What would Queen Elizabeth, Mary Stuart, Shakespeare’s Hermione, Medea, and other queens of stage and screen say and do if they were all together at a day spa? What if that spa existed in a mysterious universe, run by some seriously feminist cosmetologists? Illinois Theatre is thrilled to premiere this devised play, created using Moment Work with Tectonic Theater Company master teachers Barbara Pitts McAdams and playwright Mina Samuels and further developed with our students. Please join us for a fast, funny, wicked take on power, sex, and sisterhood.
