Day of the Drum Returns March 2, 2019

Day of the Drum returns to Krannert Center for its newest incarnation on Saturday, March 2, at noon. This day-long, multifaceted celebration of all things percussion is once again co-curated by the Center and noted percussionist/local treasure Rocky Maffit. Patrons can expect intimate and up-close performances, short demonstrations, and fun collaborations throughout the day.

The 2019 Day of the Drum lineup includes free performances by Futureman | Silverman, UI Percussion Ensemble with Sō Percussion, Glen Velez and Loire Cotler, UI Steel Band, Marching Illini Tenor Drumline, plus Rocky Maffit himself! The event will close in the evening with a ticketed performance by the taiko drumming ensemble Kodo. Prices range from $10 to $45.
