Ian Hobson, music director and conductor
University of Illinois Oratorio Society

The apotheosis of a tragically short career, Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah is an epic oratorio based on one of the most influential prophets of the Old Testament. Faith, curses, confrontation, exile, resurrection, and Elijah's own personal struggle form the dramatic basis for one of the true masterworks of Western music. Ian Hobson conducts Sinfonia da Camera, the University of Illinois Oratorio Society, and soloists in what is sure to be an unforgettable evening.
