Uncorked: Woke Mountain Boys
Central Illinois's own Woke Mountain Boys bring their blend of folk, bluegrass, and Americana to Krannert Center Uncorked. Featuring original songs by guitarist and singer Jay Rosenstein and a talented group of veteran C-U musicians, the Work Mountain Boys deliver rich, cinematic storytelling rooted in the spirit of the Midwest.
With their debut release of Afraid of Leaving Home earning Top Ten Album of 2024 honors from Illinois Entertainer, their sound echoes the legacy of beloved songwriters like Steve Goodman and John Prine - warm, honest, and deeply resonant.
Songwriter extraordinaire Steve Earle said of the album's title track, "If there weren't so many witnesses, I'd steal it." Come hear why.
