Uncorked: Woke Mountain Boys

The Woke Mountain Boys hail from the corn and soybean fields of Central Illinois, playing original folk and bluegrass-influenced Americana. Featuring the original songs of guitarist/singer Prof. Jay Rosenstein, the Work Mountain Boys also include CU music veterans John Tubs on upright bass, Sean Kutzko on drums, Jesse Brown on keyboards, and Dyke Corson on pedal steel. Their six-song debut album-ette, "Afraid of Leaving Home," was selected as a Top Ten Album of 2024 by Illinois Entertainer magazine, describing it as "a cinematic portrait, visited approvingly by the ghosts of beloved Illinois songsmiths Steve Goodman and John Prine."

Come enjoy the Woke Mountain Boys April 23 from 5:30-7pm at Stage 5 in the Krannert Center lobby.

All Krannert Center Uncorked performances are FREE on select Thursdays.
