PYGMALION: Jensen Beach, Paige Lewis, and Rochelle Hurt

Join us for a reading with authors Jensen Beach, Paige Lewis, and Rochelle Hurt as part of PYGMALION's free literature track. Northern Vermont University-Johnson and New England College faculty, Jensen Beach is the author of two story collections, most recently Swallowed by the Cold (Graywolf), which was awarded the 2017 Vermont Book Award. Paige Lewis is the author of the chapbook Reasons to Wake You (Tupelo Press, 2018). Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing at Slippery Rock University, Rochelle Hurt, is the author of two books of poetry—In Which I Play the Runaway (Barrow Street, 2016), which won the Barrow Street Book Prize, and The Rusted City: A Novel in Poems (White Pine, 2014).

In addition, the fourth annual TECH DEMO—a showcase of new robotics, virtual reality, gaming, 3-D printing, and more—will fill the Krannert Center Lobby before, during, and after performances. Human Library, which features community storytelling in a wide variety of traditions and is supported by the University of Illinois Library, will once again be a don’t-miss on-site feature. All Lobby events are free, all-ages, and open to the public.
