UI Symphony Orchestra
The premier orchestra at the University of Illinois will be joined by master American composer John Harbison to conduct his epic fifth symphony, with text from the Orpheus and Eurydice legend.

John Harbison will speak about his work as composer, conductor, and scholar for the arts, including his influences from literature (in particular, the poetic responses to the Orpheus myth) and his work on the music of J. S. Bach on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 4:30pm in Spurlock Museum's Knight Auditorium (600 S. Gregory, Urbana). Learn more.
Tickets for this event will go on sale to the public at 10am on Tuesday, September 14. Tickets will be sold online only, not by phone or at the Ticket Office counter.
