National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine
Founded in 1918, the Grammy-nominated National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine is considered one of the finest symphony orchestras in Eastern Europe. The orchestra was entrusted with the premieres of works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich, and Khatchaturian, among others, and has worked with such storied conductors and soloists as Leopold Stokowski, Artur Rubinstein, Yehudi Menuhin, Isaac Stern, Gidon Kremer, Jose Carreras, Juan Diego Flores, and more. Since 1993, the ensemble has released more than 100 recordings, to high international acclaim. Featured soloist Alexei Grynyuk studied in Kiev and at the Royal Academy of Music while garnering significant international recognition, including first prizes at the Diaghilev Competition (Moscow), the Vladimir Horowitz Competition (Kiev), and the Shanghai Piano Competition. In his increasingly international career, Grynyuk is noted for his "amazing personality and absolutely transcendent virtuosity" (Le Figaro).

This performance will last approximately two hours, and includes a 20-minute intermission.
