The Jupiter String Quartet stands at the forefront of the younger generation of classical chamber music ensembles. Formed in 2002, the quartet-in-residence at the University of Illinois School of Music concertizes across the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and South America performing in the world’s finest halls, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, London’s Wigmore Hall, Mexico City’s Palacio de Bellas Artes, the Esterházy Palace in Austria, Seoul’s National Arts Center and Sejong Chamber Hall, and Foellinger Great Hall at Krannert Center. Winner of a 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant and alum of Krannert Center’s Sunday Salon Series, pianist Michael Brown joins the quartet for this all-Schumann program; he has been described by The New York Times as a “young piano visionary” and “one of the leading figures in the current renaissance of performer-composers.”
