The Bringing it All Back Home Project: Classic Bob Dylan featuring Jack Brighton and Friends
Bob Dylan was an established folk musician and already four albums deep into his unparalleled career when he released Bringing It All Back Home in 1965. Side Two of the pioneering record featured Dylan’s familiar acoustic style on tracks like “It’s Alright Ma (I’m Only Bleeding)” and the closer, “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue.” Side One, though, blistered with a fresh, electric, rock and roll aesthetic that spun off classics like “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” “She Belongs to Me,” “Maggie’s Farm,” and “Outlaw Blues.” To close day two of ELLNORA, Jack Brighton—long respected in the Champaign-Urbana music scene and noted guitarist of the band PBS—will curate a tribute to the Nobel Prize-, Pulitzer Prize-, Grammy Award-, Golden Globe Award-, and Academy Award-winning Dylan to celebrate the transitional shift that Bringing It All Back Home signified then and its lasting impact on music today.
This performance will last approximately 60 minutes with no intermission.
