Artists Talk with Stephan Crump and Erica Gies
Grammy-nominated composer and bassist Stephan Crump is joined by renowned science journalist and National Geographic Explorer Erica Gies to discuss the intersection of their work. Gies is the author of Water Always Wins, which inspired Crump's epic suite, Slow Water, to be performed the same evening at Krannert Center.
The conversation will include details from the environmental science discoveries presented in Gies' book as well as Crump's approaches to taking that information and inspiration into the compositional and band-leading process. Questions from the audience will be welcomed.
While students of environmental science and music performance and composition are strongly encouraged to attend, we invite all members of the community to join.
With deep gratitude, Krannert Center thanks all Patron Sponsors and Corporate and Community Sponsors.
