Tickets for Colwell Playhouse, Geoff Sobelle's "Food" on Sale THIS WEEK!

Krannert Center is happy to announce on-sale dates for our several of our Spring 2025 performances, which had been previously unavailable.

Tickets for all Spring performances in the Colwell Playhouse, as well as Food by Geoff Sobelle – now in the Tryon Festival Theatre March 6-8 – will go on sale this week.

The Playhouse has been undergoing a much-needed extensive renovation to make it more accessible. A new elevator was installed, and seating has been modified to allow better access to those with disabilities. That work has finally been completed, and we are excited to begin hosting performances in the Playhouse once more.

Spring 2025 performances in the Playhouse begin with Dance at Illinois’ February Dance from January 30 – February 2. Other performances this spring include jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard with excerpts from his Grammy-winning master work Fire Shut Up In My Bones  February 27, Illinois Theatre’s presentation of Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale April 9-12, an intersection of physics and theatre with a re-envisioned performance of Quantum Voyages April 19, a conversation with  playwright, actor, songwriter, performance artist, director, and producer and MacArthur Fellow Taylor Mac April 22, and the Grammy-winning duo 123 Andrés known for their bilingual interactive, high-energy shows for kids and families alike on April 27.

Food by Geoff Sobelle is an intimate dinner party that uses illusion, humor and physical comedy to examine our relationship to food. The New York Times calls it “every bit as primal, one suspects, as our love of eating.”

Tickets for Food, as well as all Spring Colwell Playhouse performances, will go on sale to  Krannert Center Marquee Circle donors Wednesday, December 18 at 10am; Loop members may purchase tickets beginning 10am on Thursday, December 19. Tickets will be available to the public Friday, December 20 at 10am exclusively on our website at KrannertCenter.com. If you have questions, please contact the Ticket Office at 217.333.6280 (10am-6pm Tuesday-Friday) or kran-tix [at] illinois.edu. A staff member will be happy to help you find the answers.
