New Board in the Mix

The Krannert Center Audio Department has a new tool for enhancing sound quality with the recent purchase of an Avid VENUE | S6L mixing system acquired through Chicago-based audio equipment provider, TC Furlong. The S6L system was chosen because of its advanced features, ability to meet the needs of visiting professional artists, and to give students in the audio training programs cutting-edge technology on which to learn. “VENUE | S6L gives us the best of both worlds,” said Rick Scholwin, audio director at Krannert Center. “There are many great consoles out there, but keeping in mind the educational aspect, it was a no-brainer for us to go with Avid.” The console will primarily be used in the Foellinger Great Hall, the Tryon Festival Theatre, and the Colwell Playhouse.
