Level 21 Shapes Future Arts Leaders
The future of the performing arts relies, in part, on the quality of training each generation receives. While student performers are often the most visible symbol of the high caliber academic programs offered through the Department of Theatre, Lyric Theatre @ Illinois, and Dance at Illinois, the University of Illinois and Krannert Center have emerged as an uncommon incubator for arts professionals in the fields of design, technology, and management as well. The Level 21 program (named for the sum of the Center’s six levels) comprises a collaborative effort among the resident academic units and Krannert Center that allows students to learn in both classroom and production settings from professionally active faculty and more than 20 Krannert Center professional staff members in design and production, using the facilities and equipment that make rigorous and diverse educational experiences possible.
