Krannert Center Announces Youth Series 2024-25 Season with Reception

Krannert Center for the Performing Arts will celebrate their upcoming 2024-25 performances aimed at schoolchildren at their annual Youth Series Preview and Educator Appreciation Event on Tuesday, April 30 from 4 – 5:30pm in the Krannert Center lobby. All teachers, school district administrators, and parents who homeschool their children are welcome to attend.

“We know how hard our teachers work every day to support young people, and we’d like to take a moment to lift them up, to say, thank you, and to show them a little love,” said Emily Laugesen, Krannert Center’s Artistic Programming Curator and Director of Community Engagement. “We’ll have tasty snacks and wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy while we look ahead to our plans for youth-oriented performing arts programming for the 2024-25 school year.”

Now in its 42nd year, The Krannert Center Youth Series is dedicated to sharing the life-affirming power of live performance with school communities throughout central Illinois. Through the Youth Series, children and youth experience meaningful artistry, encounter the breadth of genres in the performing arts, and move toward deeper intercultural understanding. Study guides and curricular materials invite students to expand their understanding of the artists and art forms and to explore their own creativity through classroom activities. Artists often engage the students in meaningful dialogue after their performance, which further enhances the educational experience.

Persons interested in attending the Youth Series Preview can find more information on our website or by contacting Youth [at] KrannertCenter.com.
