Deeply life-affirming by nature, the arts reveal infinite possibilities of discovery, hope, and joy so often hidden in the midst of our increasingly complex and challenging world. For the last five decades, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts has helped illuminate these possibilities through its unique and harmonious blending of classroom, laboratory, and public square. With friends, colleagues, artists, students, and patrons past and present, Krannert Center and the College of Fine and Applied Arts academic units of Music, Theatre, and Dance are embarked upon a two-season 50th-anniversary celebration of this “miracle on the prairie.” We will mark the many extraordinary moments that have led to this milestone and invite everyone to audaciously imagine—together—a future of even greater impact, seeking to open minds and hearts through the pursuit of excellence in the performing arts.
On behalf of all who make it possible, welcome to Krannert Center and the performing arts at Illinois.
With warmest regards,
Mike Ross, director
