Lyric Under the Stars
Lyric Theatre @ Illinois invites you to spend an evening Under the Stars in the beautiful Sunken Garden at Allerton Park & Retreat Center listening to a selection of songs, arias, and choruses from the world’s most beloved operas and musical theatre works. Eat and drink with family, friends, and neighbors as the orchestra and singers transport you across time with magical renditions of cherished classics. Patrons may reserve seats at a table for $40 per seat; general admission tickets (lawn seating) are available for $10; a cash bar will also be available. Under the Stars is a one-of-a-kind event that is sure to delight all audiences.
When you purchase your tickets, you'll also have the option to purchase a picnic basket provided by Art Mart for $40; this curated picnic spread will feature savory and sweet treats for two guests, and a vegetarian option is also available. You may also choose to bring your own food to the performance. Please note that this event has a limited capacity, and it is common for tickets to sell out quickly.
In the event of inclement weather, we will announce the cancellation of the performance by 3pm in an email. We will then schedule a rain day performance on Saturday afternoon held at Allerton. No refunds will be issued in the event of a rained out performance. For patrons who cannot attend our rain day performance, complementary tickets to another Lyric Theatre @ Illinois event will be issued.
