Sinfonia’s 35th season opens with a collaboration including Andrew Megill and the University of Illinois Oratorio Society. Opening the concert is an early work of Georges Bizet’s, his Symphony in C, written while he was only 17 years old. Next up is Gabriel Fauré’s orchestra suite Masques et bergamasques, which was arranged from incidental music Fauré had previously written for a theatrical commission from Albert I, Prince of Monaco. Following intermission is Claude Debussy’s haunting Nocturnes. The night will end with Suite No. 2 from Maurice Ravel’s “choreographed symphony,” Daphnis et Chloé. Sinfonia da Camera will be joined by the University of Illinois Oratorio Society for the second half of the evening.

Bizet: Symphony in C Major
Fauré: Masques et bergamasques, Op. 112
Debussy: Nocturnes
Ravel: Daphnis et Chloé, Suite No. 2
