February Dance

Blasting backwards, high-velocity explosions, and turning the body inside out and upside down will provide a delightful palette of unusual possibilities in a world in which physics and even facts have become alternative realities. Graduate choreographer Leah Wilks will explore our desire to flight, fight, or laugh in times of extreme stress. New faculty member Dr. Kemal Nance will upturn traditional notions of genres as he brings his unique contemporary expressions of African-American dance to the stage, while Professors Endalyn Taylor, Linda Lehovec, and guest artist alumna Grace Courvoisier will ground our sensibilities in the reliable gutsiness and ecstasy of pure dancing.
