Professional Development for Area Educators

Urbana School District 116 educators Rusty Clevenger and Tara Olsen recently collaborated with Krannert Center engagement staff to present a professional development series called Voyage into Aesthetic Theory and Theater. The multi-session learning opportunities included hands-on production of artistic representational forms, readings, discussions, attendance at performances (including Illinois Theatre’s Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea), and meetings with directors, designers, and production staff at Krannert Center. A highlight of the experience was a session with Dontrell director and University of Illinois BFA Theatre alumnus Tyrone Phillips (pictured at center in the image with teachers).
