Events Office seeks Production Assistants for Krannert Center Events Office

The Events Office is responsible for the planning and implementation of touring (marquee) productions, School of Music concerts and recitals, commencement ceremonies, and other rental events at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, numbering over 300 events annually.

Production Assistant Job Description

An Events Production Assistant is the main conduit between the performing artists/rental clients and Krannert Center staff on the day of the show. Production Assistants will work in a number of capacities while on duty: act as a liaison with the artist, set up dressing rooms, transport the artist, communicate with front of house staff, technical staff, catering, building operations, and make sure the event runs smoothly.

Production Assistant work at Krannert Center is part-time and occasional. The average employee will work 5-8 times a month (though there may be opportunities to work more). A typical show call will last from 4-7 hours, depending on the nature of the performance. Applicants must be available nights and weekends when school is in session, have excellent interpersonal skills, be reliable and self-motivated, and be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time. A valid driver’s license is preferable but not required.
