Foellinger Great Hall
Join in a celebration of the life of Thomas Schleis—the opera manager and vocal coach for the School of Music Opera Program—who enriched this entire community with his vast knowledge and irrepressible wit.
This evening will include performances by faculty and students from the School of Music Opera Program, the UI Varsity Men’s Glee Club, the UI Women’s Glee Club, The Other Guys, the UI Symphony Orchestra, the UI Oratorio Society, the UI Jazz Faculty Ensemble, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Tom’s favorites from musicals such as South Pacific to opera classics will be on the program, and friends and colleagues will share stories and memories of Tom. Those in attendance are welcome to take home a book from Tom’s personal collection, which will be on display in the Foellinger Great Hall foyer.
