When you need to get ready for your own event, we’re here to help. We can cater private functions, provide food for receptions, rent costumes, and loan props.
Catering
We can customize catering services for private meetings, breakfasts, luncheons, and dinners for groups of up to 225 guests and receptions for up to 2,000 people. For more information, contact the director of food services at 217/333-9718.
Costume Rentals
Krannert Center’s Costume Rentals provides costumes for theatrical productions, operas, films, festivals, and special events. With an astonishing array of more than 75,000 garments ranging from shirts and skirts to crinolines and tailcoats, the collection is a marvelous destination to find the perfect dress, suit, or missing piece for any production. The costume rentals manager will be thrilled to assess your needs and assist you with the selection of garments. Prop Rentals
With four storage locations across campus, the Prop Shop is home to a little bit of everything—from sofas to chandeliers to toys. Prop Shop rentals are by appointment on Mondays and Fridays from mid-August through May. Contact the Prop Shop staff at 217/333-9720.
Space Rentals
Most spaces within the Center are available for rent. Our private rooms can host your meetings, luncheons, dinner parties, weddings, memorial services, and receptions. The floor-to-ceiling windows of the Krannert Room and the rich carpets and ample tables of the Tryon Festival Theatre Foyer provide the ambience ideal for meetings, displays, receptions, or cocktail parties. When production schedules allow, we regularly book events on the theatre stages, which offer extraordinary spaces to make your function special—and don’t forget about the expansive Lobby!
